ART 2025-26

Welcome to Art Class!

I take the children on a trip through the various periods of art starting with the earliest cave drawings, Egyptian and Greek art through Europe to present day contemporary artists. I believe in an art education that engages the students' natural curiosity, nurtures critical thinking, and helps to develop a sense of community and social responsibility.  Throughout the year we have projects that crossover with social studies, language arts, math and science helping the children make personal connections to their work and continue to deepen their learning. We experiment with every medium ... paper mache, sculpture, clay, paints and printmaking, just to name a few. Many of my lessons have been inspired by other art teachers, artists, STREAM,  children's literature, nature and by the students themselves.

We adhere to the Archdiocesan curriculum as well as the New Jersey Student Learning Standards.
