About Mrs. Sturm
My name is Chelcie Sturm and I am so excited about this new upcoming year!
This marks my tenth-year teaching, and my first year at Academy of Our Lady. I grew up in Oakland, NJ and I went to Catholic School from Pre-K through grad school, so I understand how important a Catholic School education is! I graduated from Seton Hall University with a degree in Criminal Justice with a focus on children and families. I then decided to go back to school at Caldwell University where I received my elementary education certification for grades K-6!
My favorite subject is math and reading, and I enjoy integrating art and creativity into the classroom. In my free time, I enjoy reading, baking, and spending time with my family and friends.
My teaching philosophy is rooted in the belief that education is a collaborative journey that empowers students to become critical thinkers and lifelong learners. I strive to create an inclusive and dynamic learning environment where every student feels valued and respected, fostering a sense of community and belonging. I believe that learning occurs best through active engagement, so I incorporate a variety of instructional strategies, such as hands-on activities, group discussions, and technology-enhanced lessons, to accommodate diverse learning styles. Ultimately, my goal as an educator is to inspire curiosity, resilience, and a passion for knowledge that extends beyond the classroom.
I look forward to a wonderful school year!
