About Mrs. LaSalle
A child must know that he is a miracle, that since the beginning of the world there hasn’t been, and until the end of the world there will not be, another child like him.” ~ Pablo Casals
My name is Carol La Salle. I have been an educator for more than twenty-five years and have served families and children as a teacher and a principal. I received a Bachelors of Arts degree from Caldwell University and a Masters of Arts in Educational Administration degree from Seton Hall University. I have certifications in Elementary Education (K-8), Early Childhood Education and Education Administration. I have advanced training in STEM. My family and I are members of St. Catharine Parish.
It is my belief that each student is created in the image and likeness of God. I believe that intellectual development progresses with age, experience and ability. I am aware of the necessity of approaching individual needs and differences as the Great Teacher, Jesus Christ, did with kindness, respect, understanding and patience. I believe children are in the process of learning to become part of the whole, while also striving to retain his/her own uniqueness. Keeping this in mind, it is my responsibility to gently guide children on their paths to maturity by encouraging self-respect, individuality and spirituality.
It is my belief that the Golden Rule is a priceless guide to education. The role of teacher encompasses not only competence in areas of curriculum, but also a sincere love for children and the ability to communicate the skills needed for their educational success.
I look forward to the new school year. It is a privilege to be a part of the faculty of Academy of Our Lady.
